British/Colombian designer Esteban Cortazar spent his formative years growing up in Miami’s South Beach during the early 1990s; a culture and a mindset that continues to inspire, enervate and inform Cortazar’s designs to this day.

In the summer of 1999, a chance encounter with the late Kal Ruttenstein, Bloomingdale's influential fashion director, proved to be a launching point for his career. Cortazar’s debut collection was featured in the windows of Bloomingdale’s flagship store soon after, in 2002. In 2006, Cortazar was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and at 18 he became the youngest designer to show during New York Fashion Week. In 2007, at the age of 23, Cortazar moved to Paris to become the creative director of the house of Emanuel Ungaro.

Following his departure from Emmanuel Ungaro in 2009, Esteban decided to remain in Paris to concentrate on his own line. He formally re-launched his label in 2012 with his Spring/Summer capsule collection created exclusively for Net-a-Porter.

Over the next seven years. Cortazar worked quietly in Paris to build a unique vision for his house; one fusing his Latin heritage with a distinctly modern and feminine approach to dressing that focuses on the sovereign, empowered feminine.

This is Estoban Cortezar’s first collection with Swarovski Collective.

AW 2016 COLLECTION

Esteban Cortazar debuted a streamlined collection with a sporty feel, aligned with his vision of freedom and movement. Basketball shorts, skirts and pants came in Galactic-inspired Swarovski crystal fabric, worn with sporty asymmetric knits and chunky wooden soled shoes. A mix of fabrics delighted in surprising combinations; blended treated leathers, denim and lamé appeared throughout looks in equal measure.
